YOU ARE FIRED!

I just saw a video where a father reached out his hand to his son and daughter to see their different reactions. The son immediately gave him a high-five, while the daughter seemed quite shy at first and then gently kissed her father’s palm.

This was a moment of radical awakening. I have come to realise that such emotional expressions and tenderness are abilities women are born with. Our passion, jealousy, unconditional love and sacrifice for others, our consideration and tolerance – they are all inherent, inevitable traits. We grow up this way until we are 30, only to be humiliated millions of times for being this way. In a relationship, we are stigmatised for relying on the other person and being sentimental, and are then degraded as being “irrational and not independent enough.”

Why should women sacrifice their innate nature for so-called “social progress” in a capitalistic world full of fallacies regarding the coloniality of existence, while men can perfectly live with the traits hard-wired in their brains without being suppressed? What’s the difference between this and cutting off the feet of marathon runners or the wings of birds?

Now, society is not satisfied with suppressing and stigmatising our normal sentiments (e.g., using the word "hysterical"); it is trying to cancel the external manifestations of these sentiments. Subjects like literature, the liberal arts, and education – areas where women’s natural traits thrive – are being diminished and even demolished!

I’m not saying women’s vocations are restricted to the above subjects, but it’s a fact that they accommodate women’s inborn expressive logic and thinking patterns. Of course, women can learn all types of things and work in all professions, but we can’t deny that we are naturally better at certain areas.

I am writing this because I am so fed up with men saying to me in relationships: "You are too clingy, you are too sentimental, you are too sensitive."

But can I ask a question?

Why is it always me who can't fulfil your need for “independence” so that I have to change, rather than you, who can never satisfy my emotional needs, being the one who is fired?
